Starlight began painting many years ago, ‘trying,’ she says, ‘to snatch the odd hour while the kids were occupied’. She claims to have no aptitude whatsoever. ‘Art classes at school were a nightmare where I spent most of the afternoon staring at a blank sheet of paper. I tried courses but gave up after a couple of lessons because their idea of beginners watercolour classes meant that they started in the middle and assumed you could draw. I couldn’t draw a straight line with a ruler – honestly!’
Starlight’s paintings reflect Starlight, in other words, her spiritual energy. This can be felt radiating from her paintings, the vibrations varying according to the subject matter and the colours used.
Light and Shadow Side of Being
This painting represents the soul. We all have the seeds of the black and the white within us and above the horizon line you can see the light and the clouds moving across the sky to chase out the darkness. This painting is not for sale.
Expanded Consciousness
In this painting, the area below the horizon represents the body corporal whilst that above, the soul. Starlight has painted onto the mount to emphasise the expanding nature of consciousness or the Higher Self. This painting is for sale at £150.00 mounted and includes p&p.

Poppies illustrates a tighter style than that in the foregoing paintings and has been shown here simply as an example and is not for sale.
